It’s a rainy afternoon so there’s nothing better than for me to plunge into my collection and pick out my current faves. I have to add that some of these are by no means new to the market, they’re just particular favourites of mine.
Original Source Lime & Coconut Milk
I tend to buy whichever shower gel is on special at the supermarket – I think a lot of us do that. Then I discovered this lovely stuff so if it’s on special you’re likely to see me wandering around with four of five bottles. I don’t think anything in this world has ever smelled this good. And when it’s on special it’s only £1.
Kiko Milano Water Eyeshadow in light gold, £8.90
Kiko opened in Belfast last year and I’m already a massive fan – their products are reasonably price and very good so it’s a place I’m happy to spend my money in time and again. I can’t get over how versatile this product is. Dry it has a beautiful sheer colour but wet you can really ramp up the pigment. At the Kiko launch one of the make-up artists showed me an amazing trick. Applied over a bright red lipstick this gives a gorgeous gold sheen that’s probably one of the nicest things I’ve ever seen. This pictures doesn’t do the product justice – it’s the perfect shade of gold.
Kiko Milano Unlimited Double Touch lipstick in Fire Red, £8.90
Did I mention I love Kiko? This stuff lasts for ages, feels lovely, costs under £10 and someone has cast a spell over the colours so they all look amazing on. This is the third one in the range I’ve bought, I suspect it’s just a matter of time until I have the full set.
Benefit Brow-Zings in medium, £26.50
For the last couple of years everyone in the bloggesphere and beauty world has been banging on about eyebrows. I have to say I don’t pay much attention to mine – I get them threaded once a month and usually leave it at that. But there’s something about this little kit of a pigmented wax and shaping shadow that adds a nice definition about the brows and makes mine behave just a little better. The double-edged applicator that comes with this kit is genius.
Clarins Moisture Rich Body Lotion, £30
I used to think that all body lotions were created equal until Clarins sent me some of this stuff to go along with their Radiance Plus Golden Glow Booster. I’ve been in love with it ever since. It is pricey but a little goes a long way and it’s like being wrapped in silk. My favourite method is to apply after a nice bath just before bed. You’ll wake up to supersoft skin.
