Gordons Direct – Bathtime!

As those of you who have read my last few blog posts know I’ve been doing a line as the Gordons Chemist female blogger in residence.

Gordons Chemists started out by providing me with a box of goodies to review but we’ve changed tack recently and they’ve given me a budget to play with. this means I can go in to Gordons and choose whatever products I like to talk about.

Talk about a kid in a sweet shop!

So I’ve decided to do a few themed posts so I get as many goodies in as possible. This one is all about baths.

I know some people don’t like them but I live for them. I shower every day but tend to have two to three baths a week, purely for chill-out purposes. I take baths very seriously and have turned down flats and houses purely because they didn’t have a bath in them.

So first things first; the bubbles. To be frank you can keep your bath salts and oils. If I’m having a bath I want to be able to pretend I’m in a 1990s Kylie Minogue video. The more bubbles the better. I went for good old Radox Relax (99p) which has waterlily and lavendaer. I tend to bathe in the evenings so something to help me sleep is exactly what I’m looking for. And yes, there are lots of bubbles.

Then I added a candle for a little ambiance. I love candles and rarely a day goes buy without me lighting one. Normally I go for cinnamon and vanilla scents but for something different I chose this Glade Bali sandalwood with Jasmine (£3.49).

And so I ended up with this, normally I would add a glass of wine but it was a Monday night which is a little early in the week even for me!

I tend to bring a book into the bath with me – many good, decent paperbacks have lost their lives this way after I’ve dropped them in the water. I also like to pamper myself and today was no exception. I opted for a scrubbing session this time. I use a body scrub once or twice a week. It keeps my skin soft and gets rid of those little lumps on the back of my arms. I went for Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Body Scrub (£4.99) which I had never tried before. Being Palmer’s I knew I was in good hands as they really know bodies.

For my face I chose St Ives Invigorating Scrub (£2.99). This product has been around forever and there’s a good reason why. It’s the original and best face scrub.

So after the bath I decided to opt for some body lotion. I have a love-hate relationship with such things as they don’t tend to seep into my skin very quickly leaving me feeling sticky. I saw the new Vaseline Spray And Go Moisturiser and decided to have a bash. It does seem to do what it says on the tin. I sprayed, patted it in a bit and it was gone a couple of minutes later.

I love the cocoa butter smell too.

So I love baths but I really loved that one – trying out lots of new products was great fun and after I tucked myself up in bed feeling wonderfully pampered!
